We all know that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed in August 1945 after the explosion of atomic bombs. However, we know little about the progress made by the people of that land during the past 65 years. The Washington County Republican Party had over 20 walkers with their 2010 Gateway to the West Parade entry Saturday June 12th to hand out candy and fliers. 2010 Gateway Parade slideshow. All Washington County Republicans and friends are invited to walk with the WCRP entry in the Gateway to the West Parade on Saturday June 12th at 1:00 pm. That’s this coming Saturday! Anyone interested in helping set up or walk along and hand out candy, please arrive at 12:30 pm at our parade starting point: 1700 Lafayette Street Blair, NE 68008 (Just West of the Steyer Park Pavilion). Immediately following the parade the WCRP is hosting a FREE BBQ at the Steyer Park outdoor Pavilion! Make sure to tell your friends about this event and to bring their kids.

The 2010 Washington County Republican Party convention was held Monday June 7, 2010 at the Central Court in Blair, NE. More than 52 people attended including 33 registered delegates and 19 guests. The event began with a potluck dinner at 6:00 pm with the convention beginning at 7:00 pm. Speakers included National Committeeman Pete Ricketts and Keynote speaker Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy. The 2010 Washington County Republican Party Convention will be held on Monday June 7, 2010 at Central Court, 16th and Colfax in Blair, Nebraska.

We will begin the evening’s activities with a potluck dinner beginning at 6:00 PM.  Our Convention will convene at 7:00 PM with the presentation of the Colors.  Our Keynote speaker will be Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy.

The Washington County Republican Party Platform Committee has worked hard to update the WCRP platform. The proposed new 2010 Proposed Platform will be discussed and officially voted on at the 2010 WCRP County Convention on June 7, 2010. Please take some time to download and read through the new proposed platform before the convention.

Nebraska County conventions will be held across the State of Nebraska June 1-10, 2010.
